Carol Crouppen Schuchard has lived and worked as a studio artist in St. Louis for twenty five years – exhibiting work in galleries and museums in the U.S. and abroad. Her degrees include the University of Missouri, Columbia, and post graduate studies at Fontbonne College and Washington University.
Under the name of Boo Cat Projects, Carol and her artist husband Patrick Schuchard have restored, renovated and designed dozens of historic landmark buildings. The Schuchards’ activities as painters and image makers center on the making, realization and uncovering peculiar beauty in the made object or built place.

Carol and her artist husband Patrick Schuchard have recently renovated the Stage Stop in Rollinsville, Colorado. This historic barn built in 1868 and older than the state of Colorado is a vibrant art filled home to a classic cowboy bar, restaurant and lively concert venue featuring regional and nationally renowned musicians.

Personal statement:
I am a collector and director of objects and images from my own history and generations past. Subverting the obvious materiality making small and uneasy mysteries is what I pursue. Staged fiction distorting and disguising imagery, scale and context.
